Editor

At the Cook County Republican Convention on Wednesday, July 27, Aaron Del Mar of Palatine was elected State Central Committeeman for the 5th Congressional District for a 4-year term. In this role, Del Mar vows to take a leadership role in helping to reform and rebuild the Illinois Republican Party.

"I am honored to serve and look forward to the work ahead to engage our citizens and to represent the core conservative values which will help to strengthen our State," Del Mar said. "Whatever side of the aisle, I care about the future of Illinois and will do all that I can to support State leadership from whatever side of the aisle collaboratively. One thing we all share is the desire for Illinois to thrive once again."

Del Mar is the first Asian and Palatine resident to be elected to this statewide position with the Illinois Republican Party. He is an entrepreneur, small business owner and founder of Illinois-based Adrenaline Special Events LLC, which produces 5K races and endurance events across the country, including the nationally acclaimed Santa Hustle Race Series, LLC, along with US Casino Rentals, which specializes in event planning for corporate and non-profit organizations nationwide.

The Illinois State Central Committee is the governing board of the Illinois Republican Party, and consists of 17 members, with one representing each of the state's congressional districts.

The organization's mission is to advance the principles of freedom, opportunity, and limited government, while reinforcing values that strengthen our culture - including faith, family, personal responsibility, and the dignity of every human life.
